Boliden is a high-tech metal company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to ensure society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.
Your role:
You will work in a team of ten employees. Working hours are scheduled for K2. As part of the Preparation Team, you will be offered a varied job. You will have the opportunity to work with drilling, loading/blasting, sample taking, and drill service. The work takes place outdoors in all weather conditions, and heavy lifting as well as working at heights are common tasks.
Your responsibilities:
- Drilling: Drilling with Pit Viper 351 from the cabin and control room. Nighttime drilling will be prioritized first.
- Loading/blasting: Boosting with Fordyn, connecting blasts, performing explosions, and conducting safety training.
- Sample taking: Taking samples of ore and waste rock and setting them out.
- Drill service: Changing wear parts, servicing, and performing minor repairs on our drilling machines.
Your contribution:
We look forward to working with you who build good relationships and collaborate well with others in cross-functional teams. To succeed in this role, you are responsible, flexible, and communicative. You also share our values of care, courage, and responsibility.
Qualifications include...
- High school education or equivalent education
- Communication skills in Swedish and English
- Driver's license B for passenger car
It is advantageous to have hot work, fall protection training, and blasting license. If you have machine experience and previous training/experience in drilling and/or loading, that is also a plus.
For your information: Since the tasks involve handling explosives, you will undergo a background check for approval by the police authority in accordance with the Explosive Substances Act (2010:1011) during the recruitment process.
Why work with us?
At Boliden, we believe in promoting a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where your contributions will have a direct impact on future generations.
